Day By Day is 20 years old!
2005 to 2025
Day By Day has grown since our beginnings in 2005. Our unique, easy-to-follow School Readiness Programme originally accommodated 3 age groups covering 32 themes in one language. Due to popular demand we added a programme for Toddlers, made all programmes available in Afrikaans and included two additional modules, with the result: 240 step-by-step lesson plans covering 48 themes in 4 age groups and 2 languages!
That was just the begining ...
We were, and still are, continually developing new material and produced a CAPS aligned, Grade R programme during 2012 (this replaced the Folder 3 for age 5 - 6). In 2024 we gave our Grade R programme a complete overhaul and introduced the CAPS Premium Grade R programme. Currently both are available.
The ELDAs
About ten years ago we upgraded the ECD programme using the National Curriculum Framework and including the ELDAs. The NCF ECD programme Spider Module was introduced in 2016 and we recently added a Bee Module for the summer term to give a choice of themes. Another Bee option will be added for the winter term in the next year or so.
Online resources
During the Covid pandemic we began experimenting with providing our material online (as did many of you)
and in 2022 we introduced our online resources for customers. The guidebooks used to have a Resources Section with games and stencils, etc. These are now found on the 'Home Page' for each guidebook under Customer Resources and there is no comparison really to what we offered then (black and white games to colour in) and what we can offer now! Colour games, illustrated art activities, theme gallery, links to themed stories and songs, etc.
