Improved assessment tools
GRADE R REQUIREMENTS LIST
We have developed a unique CAPS Grade R requirements list - using the CAPS document - which gives each requirement a reference number.
The list shows where in the programme each requirement is met, i.e. in the activity books or in the daily plan.
REFERENCE NUMBERS
The requirement and its reference number are found on the activity sheets and in the guidebook with each part of the daily plan.
ASESSMENT RUBRICS
These reference numbers are then carried over to the assessment rubrics. We include two types of rubrics:
-
Individual rubrics (found in the tear-off pad for each child).
-
Class rubrics (found in the online resources to download and print).
The same requirements listed in the rubrics are carried over to the end-of-term report.
The CAPS Premium cards
These cards are very different in concept and content to our original cards.
They are designed as a collectable resource for the teacher.
CAPS PREMIUM MATHS CARDS
The Mathematics cards are comprised of numbers, shapes and colours.
They are printed on A6 using good quality paper and there are six in a set.
Each child gets one set in their folder.
CAPS PREMIUM LANGUAGE CARDS
The Language cards are comprised of letters, colours and rhyming words.
They are printed on A7 using good quality paper and there are twelve in a set.
Each child gets one set in their folder.
What are the themes or topics?
